Cold weather and quilts

I have fallen in love with this quilt. I haven't been able to find the magazine that Tiff found the pattern in, but I love it. The blues and browns and creams are such a wonderful combo. Reminds me of the beach. Which is where I would love to be right about now. It's very cold out here in the Midwest.

Tiff over at http://foldedgingham.typepad.com/ loved the quilt so much so that she made her own. Go give a looksee at her creation.

I have a quilt in process at the moment. It is to be a gift for a friend for her birthday. Here is a small sneek peek of it. Its still in the sewing machine at the moment. Once I am done, I will post the finished quilt. As you can see, I haven't learned freemotion quilting yet, so the "x's" are what is keeping it all down. and straight lines and stitching in the ditch as well. Hoping to take a freemotion class some time this year.

Well, stay warm and keep quilting and crafting.

Hi Cheryl,

Sorry I didn't put in the name of the magazine, it's American Patchwork and Quilting Feb. 2008 issue(by Better Homes and Gardens). On the front of the magazine in a blue, green, and yellow windmill block quilt.

I can't wait to see the finished quilt you are making for your friend, it looks lovely.
