A dear friend gave me a boatload of tomatoes. We had some last night on our hamburgers and some with breakfast on eggs this morning....but there is way too many of them for us to eat before they go bad.So, I am going to try and do some of this.

How did it go? I think the thought of it is scarier than actually doing it, although it is a bit of work, don't you think? But it'll be sooo worth it come winter when you have a taste of summer.

Uggh, it didn't. It didn't go at all. I spent more time in the car in traffic today. Ended up giving three bags away to neighbors. I still have a gracious plenty here to can a few jars with. So hopefully tomorrow....or they won't be any good after that. They are so very ripe. If I can't can tomorrow, I may just make some homemade spaghetti sauce and freeze it.
Oh, and you are right. Judging by the process from the source I will be using, it does look like a lot of work, but it will be worth it come winter like you say.
Oh, I have so many tomatoes too! I have been eating them everyday!
